Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is pretty much the same concept as ‘paying it forward’. It’s about how a company ‘gives back’ to the community and society by operating in a sustainable and ethical way. This might be through reducing their carbon footprint, giving to charity, or even sending employees out to volunteer in the local community every once in a while.

But CSR doesn’t just help the wider community; it also benefits the business by boosting employee morale and creating a positive image. It can also help win new customers as many consumers will research a company before doing business with them, to check that they have ethical policies.
