Healthcare: Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation

This course, intended for healthcare professionals, is designed to help you protect and assist victims of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. In the course, we’ll define different types of abuse and discuss who is at an increased risk of being victimized. You’ll learn to recognize key indicators of abuse, including abusive and neglectful caregiver behaviors. We’ll also discuss typical signs that a patient is being financially exploited. Finally, we’ll cover how to prevent abuse, along with reporting requirements if you suspect abuse is occurring.

This course includes scenario-based instruction and exercises illustrating real-world examples of abuse. Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll be able to recognize different kinds of abuse and protect your patients from mistreatment.
