Slips, Trips, and Falls: Overview

Many factors contribute to people slipping, tripping, and falling down in the workplace. This course helps employees recognize and correct hazards to keep the facility virtually accident free. We’ll discuss issues such as poor housekeeping around the facility, inadequate safety factors, inappropriate employee behavior, and human failures like fatigue and inattention that all contribute to accidents. Requirements for safety around open access points or pits and stairways are specifically identified. We’ll also touch on your responsibility to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if it is required by your employer. Everyone – employees and managers – is responsible for keeping workplaces as safe as possible.
