Managing Family Stress

Family can be one of the greatest sources of joy - as well as a frequent cause of stress. Learn a mindfulness tactic to help you handle even the most trying relationships. This audio-only course is led by Dr. Cortland Dahl, a research scientist, meditation teacher, and Chief Contemplative Officer at HMI who spent eight years translating Tibetan Buddhist texts before getting his Ph.D. in neuroscience. In this course, you’ll learn to observe the thoughts and feelings you experience when you think about a stressful family event or relationship. You’ll also learn how to shift your mindset by identifying positive qualities in yourself and your family members. And finally, you’ll set a more positive intention for how you’ll handle upcoming family interactions. After this course, you’ll have more control over your reactions to frustrating family situations.
