Airbourne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS)

Target learners: Flight Deck Crew.
ACAS (Airborne Collision Avoidance System) is a system designed to alert the Flight Deck crew to conflicting traffic, and instruct them when an immediate conflict resolution is required.  This course is will familiarize pilots with the system, the principles of operation, the logic behind the system, cockpit displays and the interpretation thereof, system alerts and the correct procedures to follow in the event of an alert, and the system limitations. Note: ACAS system practical competency must be confirmed during simulator training sessions by a qualified Flight Instructor.
